Chic Minimalism For The Céline Show

Instead of a glamorous show on the runways of Paris Fashion Week, Céline’s Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection was instead presented in the intimate atmosphere of the brand’s Paris showroom, due to the fact that creative director Phoebe Philo is heavily pregnant.

In tune with this season’s show, the outfits presented were best described as minimalist. “Tony clothes for everyday life”, said Philo about her collection.

The recurring element – the coat, benefited from a boost in volume and some infusions of colour. Brought to life in blue, navy, dusty pink, immaculate white or even in colour-block pattern, coats with rounded shoulders and oversized lapels dominated the show.

Trousers, some with electric stripes, some accessorized with vertical zippers around the knee area, gave a punk edge to the collection.

The structured simplicity of Phoebe Philo’s clothes for Céline enveloped the entire collection in elegance. Fashionable & chic.
