Chanel S/S 2013: Silhouettes For A Glamourous Summer

Oversize pearl necklaces and bracelets, pearls transformed into polka dots, seductively adorning feminine dresses, tops and jackets, pearls as buttons and pearl appliqués on belts – one iconic element of the house of Chanel has been transformed by Karl Lagerfeld into a recurring element if his Spring/Summer collection for the French label, presented during Day 8 of Paris Fashion Week.

Besides pearls, Karl also included a series of other accessories, perfect for the summer season: oversize hats with UV-protected Plexiglas brims, platforms with nautical stripes, and even a bag with huge hula hoop handles, paired with a one-piece bathing suit carrying the famous Chanel logo.

In terms of clothing for the warm season, Lagerfeld imagined cocoon-silhouettes made out of fine knits, tweed dresses, jackets with accentuated shoulders and wide sleeves, and also a series of elegant evening gowns, with floral appliqués, perfect for a glamorous summer night on the town.
