Chanel Couture: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

In a romantic ”Midsummer Night’s Dream”-esque décor, infused with a dose of mystery, Karl Lagerfeld showcased for Chanel Couture a sparkling collection.

Daytime looks, made out of elegant teed, were refined even more through lace details. They were paired with a makeup technique using feathers and a hairstyle featuring veils, while the feminine silhouette was accentuated with the help of smartly sculpted shoulders, meant to bring more light to the face – a recurring element of the show.

For nighttime, the outfits migrated onto romantic dresses, with floral embroidery so intricate, it resembled printing from afar. The show culminated with the appearance on the runway of a set of diaphanous dresses, fit for a fairy princess, in fine silk with precious beading and crystal appliqués.
