And it was New York Fashion Week, and then it was Carolina Herrera… This would be the most fitting start for a review of the collection shown by the American designer, as on the podium a contemporary story was told.
A story with beautiful princesses in long gowns emboldened by avant-garde cuts. A look matching the spirit of the urban landscape that is their kingdom. The silks and fine veils got the sharpness of a sky-scraper bathed in sunlight, the orange-red shades complemented by cobalt patterns and inserts were lent strong steel reflexes, and the interminably tall, slender silhouettes, underpinned by vertiginous vertical slits.
An architectural collection, sweetened by unmatchable freshness and the pervasiveness of Carolina Herrera’s favourites, – how else could we describe them than – impressive dresses.
