Can you even imagine being a 16 year old weightlifting girl in Baghdad?

Huda Salem

In a Baghdad suburb, a 16 year old young woman, Huda Salem, trains with the weights. Her coach, Abbas Ahmed Abbas, talks on how important respect for people and for the traditions really is. He also explains how is it that weightlifting is a sport families have entrusted him with their children for.

Huda can now lift 72 kilograms and is proud of the cup and teddy she got at international competitions. She tells us that engraved lies the recognition of her effort, the extraordinary nature of which she might not even be fully aware of. ’’You’ve made big progress.’’

’’The strength of girls and women will help us to lift the world. ’’ #CHIME for change! Donate even the smallest of amounts for change!
