So, there is this human, predominantly feminine, activity called shopping with meanings and joys sometimes difficult, if not outright impossible to explain. And then there is shopping-shopping, online shopping, gifts shopping, emergency shopping for a party dress for tonight, recreational shopping, no-reason-shopping… And, the guru of all types of shopping, shopping as a professional activity of a specialised, experienced person dedicatedly making it the cornerstone of our future shopping! Abstract, but inspirational, isn’t it?
So I chose, aiming at the title of shopping mentoring, three examples of shopping sessions by the Luisa Via Roma buyers. What is it that most matters in a collection? What is the piece with most potential for wardrobes around the world? Who is it that designers have in mind when they make up a concept and who is it that buyers never forget when picking and choosing? Ah, we still have so much left to learn!
