Best of Tokyo Fashion Week (I)

Bursting creativity, originality and maybe even eccentricity are what is expected from Tokyo Fashion Week. The Tokyo fashion scene, is, still, much more complex than that, and the fall/winter 2013-2014 runway shows have brought under the spotlight impeccable, feminine designs, sometime even classic statements, yet always punctuated by the pervasive high note of the specifically Japanese austere exoticism.

ARIUNAA SURI – the creations of a designer from Mongolia, schooled in Berlin, showcasing in Tokyo

et momonakia – the creative venture of two Japanese designers with apprenticeships at Lanvin and Balenciaga

TAE ASHIDA  – simple, sophisticated, modern elegance, practiced over a 20 year career

NITZ SCHNEIDER  – from teeming Harajuku, a stile bold through clarity and minimalism

COTOO – beauty flowing over the fluid lines of the feminine silhouette
