Best Of Milan Men’s Fashion Week F/W 2013 (III)

Follow Fashion avec Passion’s Best Of Milan Men’s Fashion Week series to find out about the hottest menswear trends for the Fall/Winter 2013 season:

For the Fall/Winter 2013 season, the Missoni collection made their bet on knitwear – the brand’s signature element – whose image they explored and consolidated.

Cozy sweaters, cardigans, jackets, but also blazers and trousers, in a chromatic palette inspired by travels to Alaska, The North-East Pacific or Grand Canyon, were completed by a set of denim pieces, created in collaboration with Jean Machine.

Through her Menswear Fall/Winter 2013 Prada show, Miuccia aimed to show her public a ”human and personal way of seeing fashion.”, imagining a suite of ‘perfect classics of the moment: shirts, sweaters, cardigans”.

The untucked shirts, with a most casual air, were paired with skinny pants, blazers, boxy jackets and sweaters, in a mix of nostalgia (Miuccia reinterpreted a couple of retro pieces, bringing them into the present) and fresh modernism.

Emporio Armani

For the Fall/Winter 2013 Emporio Armani show, Giorgio Armani went with the idea of elegance, presenting a series of strong silhouettes with classic, simple lines.

Slim trousers, jackets with shearling lining and lapels, elegant suits, leather jackets, cozy sweaters, coats with straight lines – all were present in the Emporio Armani collection, highlighting the show’s expression of refinement.

John Richmond

On the runway of the John Richmond Menswear F/W 2013 show, the elegant looks made up of suits with classic, straight lines, were alternated with more casual outfits, such as jeans, T-shirts with rock’n’roll prints or embroided biker jackets. Leather inserts provided the collection with a hint of toughness, perfect for the cold season, while a series of cozy knits softened the air of the entire collection.

Layered prints, tribal motifs, ultra-bright colours and a play upon textures – leather, shearling, fur, brocade, velvet – made the Etro Menswear F/W2013 runway come to life in an explosion of colours and shapes.

Kean Etro send onto the runway a suite of looks reminiscent of Life of Pi, with an almost animalic vibe to them. Mohair coats, velvet jackets, blazers and even kimonos, all embellished with prints, one more vibrant than the other – rococo swirls, wild animal prints or paisley prints – all made for a hypnotic collection.
