Best Of London Menswear Spring/Summer 2014 (II)

Fashion avec Passion presents you with the stylistic directions that the designers are dictating for men’s fashion of the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 season:

Alexander McQueen

Somptuous silk, precious brocade, floral prints with dark allure decorating jackets and trousers, endless cascades of lace adorning everything, from vests to pants and coats, in black or white versions – all of those invaded Sarah Burton’s collection for Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2014, giving birth to a line-up of decadent looks with a romantic, almost poetic air, punctuated by a dose of mystery.

Christopher Kane

For the Spring/Summer 2014 season, Christopher Kane went with simple, classic silhouettes – cotton T-shirts, sweatshirts, shirts, shorts, coats – to which he inoculated a fresh, youthful vibe, with the help o graphic prints representing 3D renderings of human faces.

Printed in plain black & white or expertly applied in the form of Intarsia knits to create mesmerising patterns in primary colours, the digital motifs dominated Kane’s Collection for the S/S season, creating a geek chic effect.

Rag & Bone

The Rag & Bone collection imagined by David Neville and Marcus Wainwright for Spring/Summer 2014, went with classic silhouettes reinvented in surprising fabrics. Canvas jackets, cargo pants, various Japanese-inspired pieces featuring sashiko prints, as well as the waterproof jackets and pants coated with Teflon, were amongst the show’s key-pieces, their utilitarian allure perfectly contouring the collection’s masculine feel.
