Balanced Elegance In Stella McCartney’s Show

After nearly a month of fashion shows, Stella McCartney brings to attention, a few days before the end of Paris Fashion Week, a collection that could just as well be viewed as a conclusion to the hundreds of outfits that designers have presented for next season.

For the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 season, Stella imagines a collection illustrating the exact manner in which the modern woman would like to look. “The Stella woman has a balanced nature”, according to the designer.

As usual, the highlight of the collection for the cold season was the coat. With straight lines and loose silhouettes, in an array of vivid colours like blue, or on the contrary, in earthy, autumnal shades, accessorized with diagonal zippers and each one flaunting an oversized lapel in clashing colour tones, Stella’s coats are always a hit on the runway.
The designer also imagined a series of tailored suits with straight-cut trousers and oversized blazers and a couple of  deux-pièces with rounded hips, putting an emphasis on the hourglass shape of the feminine silhouette.

The autumnal shades of gray, brown and black, along with accents of vivid blue or pink came together with botanical inspired prints, reminiscent of falling leaves.

According to the designer’s statement, the Fall collection mixes together the idea of urban and rural fashion, along with day and night fashion. The result is a collection in which elegance meets functionality, in the form of extremely stylish looks.
