Emporio Armani S/S 2015, futuristic classic and classical futurism

Futuristic classic or classical futurism, these are concepts with which Armani has played before. The simplicity yet quirkiness of his collections is a juxtaposition he relishes in. And, even more than usual, spring-summer 2015 had a sharply blue hue to it that got us all once more seeing Giorgio Armani as the blue eyed designer of the season!

Beautiful short-cut reptile jackets, gorgeous layered veil skirts, a few of what we’ve come to recognise as distinctly Armani jackets and trousers, early 20th century meets space age shorts and cleavage jumpsuits and gorgeously textured midi dresses. It was all brilliantly smart… and then came the blue. Described by the designer as cornflower blue and best labelled by the less expert and more thrilled among us as radiant electric blue, it lent everything on stage – from sporty shoes all the way up to lapel-shaped chokers – an extra glimmer of otherworldliness.

All, exceptionally crisp, exceptionally Emporio Armani.
