Play Upon Textures In The Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2013-14 Show

On a backdrop of the famous ”Eye Of The Tiger” tune, the soundtrack for the Rocky III movie, models stepped onto the runway of the Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2013 show wearing what will surely be the next cold season’s IT accessories: oversize furry gloves, reminiscent of boxer’s gloves, and soft wool caps tucked into matching snoods.

The fuzzy factor proved to be a central element of Wang’s collection for next season, a reaction to the rigor and structure of his last Spring collection, as he himself put it. Fur, mohair, astrakhan and alpaca were ever so present in the show, from outerwear trimmings to skirts, pants and cozy sweaters. To balance the fuzzy effect of wool and fur, Wang added a bit of texture in the form of luscious black leather.

The second part of the show was dedicated to a series of more elegant silhouettes – sweaters embroided with sparkling sequins and satin suits accessorised with fur coats for a glamorous effect.
