A Romantic Collection: Valentino Couture

The show imagined by Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri for Valentino Couture Fall/Winter 2012 started out with a cast of all-black outfits, ranging from floor-length gowns to elegant jumpsuits with slim pants and even moving on to a black cape with transparent veil panels. Transparencies played a major role, balancing the severe look of the outfits and providing a touch of sensuality.

The collection moved on to a more optimistic tone with nude cocktail frocks, evening gowns and jumpsuits with embroided flower details, progressing into luxurious velvets and satins printed with nature-inspired motifs and ending with an array of glamorous monochrome floor-length sheath gowns.
